Selling Out Quick!

My Pumpkin Spice scent is almost gone! I'm almost sold out. I have enough for just a few more candles. If you'd like to order one, they are now available in my store over on the sidebar.

I still have Banana Nut Bread and all my other scents readily available, but the Pumpkin Spice is proving to be quite popular right now. :) It does smell quite yummy!

Hubby's digital camera still isn't working. So I'm not sure when I'll be able to post updated pics of the candles. Hopefully, we'll get his camera fixed soon. I hate being without it.

I'm off to make more candles! Have a good Saturday and get your orders in. :)

Delivery Day

The UPS Man should be dropping off my new scents sometime this afternoon. WHEE!!! I can't wait to smell them and to make a few new candles. It's going to smell heavenly in my kitchen this evening. :)

Sadly, there seems to be something wrong with the Hubby's digital camera. I'm not sure if I'll be able to get any pics of the new candles, but I'll be sure to post about them once they are done. Plus, I'll make them available via the store. I might just have to use a different picture.

My Sister has already requested 2 Pumpkin Spice candles, but I'll have enough scent for a few more after that. If you'd like to order one, leave me a comment or head over to the store later tonight. I'll update it after I've made a few.

Newest Scents

In honor of the fall season, I'm adding two new scents to my collection! Banana Nut Bread & Pumpkin Spice. Can't you smell the yumminess already?? :) Of course, I also had to order some orange dye.

I should have my new scents by the end of next week. I finally got a chance to place an order this morning. I hope to have another contest sometime this fall. Keep your eyes out for that!

That reminds me - Nessa I still have your candle dear. Leave me a comment :)

Endless Repeat

I know I keep saying this (tho it's been awhile now), but I have been so freakin' exhausted from work that my candle crafting has had to take a back seat. This makes me sad!

It's starting to feel like fall here in the lovely New England area and I'm in the mood for some fall scents. I have a great Apple Jack N' Peel that puts me in a Autumn state of mind, but I believe a nice Pumpkin Pie or Spiced Cider might be even better.

Friday is payday. I'm hopeful that I can get an order in for some new scents. There's nothing better then a pleasantly scented candle burning in the house while watching leaves fall from the trees.

Coming Soon

Yikes, where does the time continue to go? Life has been so hectic lately that I haven't had any spare time for my candle making.

I'm hopeful that once I get adjusted to working a full-time job again (and at very early hours in the morning) that I'll have the energy to work on some new candles. Plus, the hot temps have not been helpful in creating a suitable atmosphere and mood for crafting. Nothing worse then standing over a hot stove on a humid day.

I should have the new scents available in the next couple of weeks. I look forward to creating new candles soon.

I want to say "Thank You" to all my EC friends who have continued to drop cards here even tho I haven't been able to return the favor lately. I appreciate my readers!

Life has been super-hectic the past week. I was summoned for jury duty on top of starting a new job. Plus, the Hubby had a big Knights of Columbus function yesterday. I haven't had any down-time or at least that's how it feels. My computer sits quietly waiting for a new monitor. We were so busy this weekend that we haven't had a chance to shop for one. I hope to rectify that this week.

Hope all is well with everyone! I'll be back to candle-crafting soon!!

AFK

Sorry I haven't been updating the past few days. As some of you know (who read my personal blog), my monitor stopped working. I'm having to share a computer with the Hubby. EEEK! It's no picnic let me tell you.

I've pretty much been AFK since the monitor crashed. I'm hoping to get a new one towards the end of this week (or else I might lose my sanity). Posts made be few and far between until then. Unfortunately, during this downtime, I haven't had a chance to do much candle crafting.

The store is always open though! :)

Craft Therapy Contest!

Recently, I have discovered a great new blog, Craft Therapy. The Craft Junkie, as she refers to herself, makes some fabulous pieces of jewelry.

In honor of her upcoming birthday, she is hosting a contest. Who doesn't love a contest? I spent so much time pimping mine last month that I figured I'd pimp someone else for a change. :) It's very simple to enter - commenting on her posts will earn you an entry, blogging about the contest on your own site will earn you an added entry as will subscribing to her blog feed. The contest will be running until July 24th and is open to all US and Canadian residents.

What do you win? She will create you a custom-made bracelet. How great would that be? You can get all the contest details on her contest page. Be sure to check out her Etsy shop while you're there!

Smells Like Bread

After taking a vote from you, the readers, Banana Nut Bread appears to be the favorite choice for a new scent. Sugar Cookie was also a popular choice. How fabulous does your kitchen smell when you're baking banana nut bread? Mmmmm! I could go for a slice right now.

I will be ordering the Banana Nut Bread scent (probably this weekend) and possibly the Sugar Cookie as well. So, I hope to have the new scent available soon for purchase and will be sure to post once I do.

Don't forget that the contest for a free candle ends tomorrow. I will be picking a winner tomorrow afternoon/evening!! If you haven't entered yet, head on over to my main blog, rarereflection, for all the contest details and entry information.

Let's Take A Vote!

I am always looking for new scents and am curious to know what my readers/friends would enjoy. So, I thought I'd list a few of the scents I'm considering and see which one turns out to be the favorite.

Out of these scents, which one would you be most likely to buy?

Banana Nut Bread--Whiffs of warm banana nut bread fresh from the oven. A great mix of bananas, nuts, and sweet warm bread.

Birthday Cake--Bakery rich cake with sweet butter cream frosting

Cherry Lemonade Yankee type--The ultimate refresher with the cool sparkle of luscious cherries and just-squeezed lemons

Gourmet Sugar Cookie--Warm, crisp sugar cookie aroma

And yes, I realize that all of these scents are food related. Those seem to be the most popular. Plus, they are my true idea of Happy Thoughts.

Leave a comment and let me know which one would be your favorite!

Candle Making Time!

These are my 3 newest creations. The UPS man made me very happy and left my order of new scents on my backstep this afternoon. As soon as dinner was over, it was candle crafting time.

Let's start from left to right in the picture above. We have Chocolate Chip Cookie, Butt Naked and Wedding Day.

The Chocolate Chip Cookie is definitely my favorite of the three. It honestly smells like a huge plate of fresh baked cookies (without the calories). I'm so happy that I was able to find brown dye at AC Moore yesterday. This candle is a little bit of heaven in a jar. :)

The scent of Butt Naked surprised me a bit. The description given by the distributor made it sound more like a fruity scent, but it smelled a bit more floral to me. It's quite pleasant though and not one to be missed.

Lastly, the Wedding Day scent is lovely. It's a pleasant mix of floral scents and perfect for a summer day or a special occasion (like a wedding). Smelling it brought a smile to my face because I couldn't help but remember my own wedding.

I will be adding all three to my storefront shortly. Don't forget, my Candle GiveAway is still taking place over at my main blog, rarereflection.com until June 27th. Everyone still has time to enter for free by simply posting about it on your own blog and extra entries are given for each candle purchased during this time.

Eagerly Waiting

I feel like a kid on Christmas morning. My new scents are due to be delivered today and I am eagerly waiting for them. I can't wait to try them out!!

The new scents are Chocolate Chip Cookie (mmmmm!), Wedding Day (a floral scent) and Butt Naked (can't explain this one). As soon as I get a test candle made for them, I'll be adding them to my storefront.

Where is the UPS man?!? I'm ready to pounce!

Shopping For Supplies

Ugh. What is up with Michael's Crafts and their limited selection of candle supplies? I stopped in at a location today in hopes of picking up a few new dyes, but was disappointed by their lack of choices. I was in search of brown for my new Chocolate Chip Cookie scent.

No Luck!

Now, I have to debate between using up precious fuel to drive (out of my way) to an AC Moore Store in hopes of them having it or ordering it online and paying more for shipping then the product itself. Honestly, it's frustrating either way.

The Hubby suggested that I call AC Moore before making a drive down there for nothing, but there's no guarantee that I'll get an honest answer when I call. I've had that happen to me time and time again. I get told an item is in stock and then discover that it's not once I arrive.

My new scents are due to arrive on Tuesday and I'm eager to try out the cookie scent, but can't imagine it being any other color. Anybody want a blue candle that smells like a cookie? :)

Show & Tell

I love when I can spend an afternoon creating candles. My kitchen smells incredible (without even burning them) and clean up is a breeze. That's one of the advantages of soy candles. Soy wax can be cleaned up easily with hot soapy water.

My favorite scent at the moment is Monkey Farts. Yeah, you read that right! :)

You didn't think it'd be pink?

I'm also loving the Lemon Drop scent. It smells exactly like the candy! I could go for a box right now.

The new scents will be arriving on Tuesday. I can't wait to smell the Chocolate Chip Cookie!

Don't forget about my Candle GiveAway! Head on over to rarereflection.com for details on how to enter. Contest ends on June 27th!!

Latest Creations

I hand-crafted a special scent candle for my Mom this evening. I created Apple-Jack Cheesecake. Boy, it smells soooo good!! My Mom will love this scent. Who wouldn't?? This is a picture of it while it drys.

I also created a couple Cinnamon Vanilla candles earlier in the day.

Mmmm, my kitchen smells like heaven right now!

Coming Soon - 3 New Scents!

I just placed an order to add 3 new scents to my inventory. They should arrive at the beginning of next week and I am eager to give them a try.

Coming Soon -

Butt Naked--This lively blend says fun and fruity with tops notes of cherry, strawberry, peach, fruity bubble gum spice leading to middle notes of cinnamon, jasmine, orange blossom and lily. Base notes of vanilla, cedar and musk bring all the scents together. (I think the name is cute!)

Chocolate Chip Cookies- Can you say yummy?! Warm, gooey sweetness of brown sugar, milk chocolate and sweet butter filling the house. The kids will wonder where the cookies are. Absolutely scrumptious! (Who doesn't love the smell of fresh baked cookies?)

Wedding Day, Yankee Type--This oriental floral begins with a bouquet of narcissus, Bulgarian rose, Italian jasmine & white lilies. The woody spice heart combines rich blue violets, clove & velvety soft gardenia petals. The dry is a dreamy powdery musk. (I love weddings!!)

I will be adding them to my store as soon as possible!!

First Post!

I've created a blog to discuss and promote my hand-crafted soy candles. Some of you may recognize me from my original blog - What Lies Within the Mirror.

I'm not sure how frequent my posting will be on here at first, but I will be making product announcements and sharing photos of my handy-work.

My store is available 24/7. If you don't see a scent that you like, I am currently taking requests for new scents. Feel free to leave me a comment.
